Some of you know that before Candyland, I had another webcomic called Red All Over. It ran for 19 chapters from 2003 until 2010 and has been discontinued. For a long time It sat quietly on the web collecting dust, but it was deleted after Candyland was born. However, I hated to see seven years of comic go to waste, and it still holds a place in my heart, so I made it a grave. You can read the comic at http://redallover.smackjeeves.com/. Sadly, a lot of the fun site features, like the quiz and all my fan art and fan fiction, are gone (well- I have copies, but they aren’t on the web), but the archive at least has been restored
its midterms and I have a lot to do so today’s page will be a few hours late, I’ll still be sure to bet it done while its still Monday though, so I won’t technically have missed my deadline. Over the summer I may go to two pages a week but for now I have classwork.
Monday’s page took three hours to colour, and it still looks slap-dash. There has got to be a better way to do this. Forgive my early stages, I’m still so new to colour comics, and this digital inking program, which flattens out the characters more than I’d like.
Looks like I have some new hits! You came a bit early, the kids haven’t even gotten to Candyland proper yet, but I hope you will stick around! Right now I am updating EVERY DAY until they actually get where they are going, and after- looks like it should be MONDAY, I will start a more staggered schedule, probably Mondays, maybe also Fridays if I have the time and the material. Thanks for checking me out!
So I’m sure right now, as the comic is only five pages long, my readers are limited to about as many people right now, but I’m still glad to have you! I hope you will be patient with me. I’m still working with WordPress and learning how to get it to do the things I need it to do (super thanks to site admin Remi for helping me put the site together!), not to mention getting used to drawing the characters, deciding on a style tone, learning my inking software, and later, the best means possible for colour. So I have quite a bit I’m working through but I hope you’ll stick around! After all, our heroes haven’t even made it to their destination yet!
